Wow!!! what a great message; one of your best. We would have had to like to listen to the last 5 minutes of the message but the musicians came on the scene and totally disrupted our ability to concentrate.
Perhaps being well into our seventies has something to do with our ability to multi-task. I do know, that as a commercial beekeeper, it is difficult to shut out the noise of 60,000 bees that are not happy with your presence. Until one can shut out the noise the brain cannot assess what is best for the colony.
There is undoubtedly some psychological benefit to music being introduced as sermons end because so many preachers employ that technique.
The ancient parable that says we are as one who has control over a city (the city being our inner selves) and we control the four gates that allow entrance to that city namely the eyes, ears, imagination and tongue. If one does not guard each of these gates others will gain access to your city and you will start ruling it for you. I prefer not to be slave to music (even though it is a great blessing in praising Abba) so perhaps that is why my ears blocked out the last part of your teaching.
